Peat vs. Peat Moss

okay, i know that there is a diffrence between these two things...im pretty sure, i know the diffrences, but i don't know what is supposed to be used in casings? ive read people that said peat moss, and people who jsut said peat. when people say peat is that just short for peat moss?

Yes it is used in casings and so so is coco-coir ,  , also known as BED A BEAST .
Peat moss is cheaper by far . 
People usually add verm to the peat(or coir) to help with water retention , and help create  fluffy, uneven  surfaces. `edit` , and a few other reasons , but .......
Check in the FAQS for 50/50=+ CASING .
