peyote graft

if a peyote was grafted on a foot tall pedro when it was only pea sized does it need to be re grafted as it grows?. It has hit golf ball size but has slowed down drastically...The pedro realy hasnt grew much but threw out two pups that were cut off when big enough to trow roots..The connection was very small and only grew a little if any compared to the size of growth to the graft...Do I need to slice the graft off and more of the pedro to get a bigger growth ring...I havent seen much growth over the last few months..do we have to regraft periodically???

perhaps you should re-graft it to a pup .... o dont know about that spacific situation but i do know that when you graft other cacti after a while and parent plant will not grow much any more and the top (grafted part) will stop growing also.
this is just a thought i have no experience in that feild but i am fairly learned in botany in general and i know that is how it works in other cacti.
good luck man

I think you won't need to regraft it until it detaches from the other cacti, maybe you need to give it a bigger pot or maybe to feed it a little. Here's an old picture of one of my testic... I mean grafts.... Peyote is now 1cm thicker than Trichocerus at both sides

Grafted on blue myrtle...YOU CAN NOT WATER FOR OPTIMUM GROWTH OR THEY WILL SPLIT.... this is a pup taken from a plum sized one on a pedro..
Seed grown torches..(have about 30 of them.) Notice how the small pot is thicker and shorter than the other two ..This holds true to all of them...small pots do produce shorter fatter ones.....

As usual someone wanders when Im passing on knowledge........Growing from seed is very rewarding look at these two that have been recently repotted into a bigger one...Wow huge compared to all the others...These were the only two that were grown together in the same pot since seeds...They must LOVE each others company and thrive together...I will never seperate the roots that have entwined together....
