adding oxygen to grow chamber?

anyone have any thoughts on adding oxygen to grow chamber say from a scuba tank or from oxygen bottles for welding? putting it in from the top at a slow volume putting holes in bottom. would this help make for bigger shrooms?

Thats a good idea, in theory at least. I think that h2o2 / h2o works pretty good. My perlite is soakedwith h2o2/h2o and the heat / light causes the h2o2 to degrade into h2o and the extra o molecule is released. At least, thtas what I think happens Any info on this would be great

mushrooms need air exchange mostly to remove CO2, not bring in oxygen. i don't think supplemental oxygen would be worth the trouble.
(i think).

full marks for innovative imagination, but...
there are so many other things to consider - strain special needs, air exchange, temp, humidity, contams, moisture, genetics, fiddling with crop while stoned, light, nutrients, substrate aeration, etc etc... that i think you'd be better off getting the basics down first:
colonise substrate. colonise casing. provide temps, humidity, air exchange, and light. be patient.
goo dluck, though! and report back

Using an oxygen tank with a slow release regulator (think CO2 in marijuana cultivation) in a positive pressure growing setup, so the oxygen forces the CO2 out, would provide air exchange. Although mushrooms do 'inhale' oxygen, I do not know what benefits would be gained from adding high levels of oxygen.
A scuba tank is also a bad example, as they are filled with pressurized atmosphere, and contain similar levels of all gases that we find in normal air, basically 80% nitrogen and 20% oxygen. The air is also very dry to prevent rusting and such inside the tanks, requiring extra humidification steps.

dont shrooms use oxygen like trees use carbon dioxide? so in theory wouldnt adding extra oxygen to shrooms make them bigger ?anybody ever try this ?

I was actually pondering the same idea. Here's a diagram of what I had in mind.

I once set something like that up, but it wasn't so fancy.
It just involved a large gas producing apparatus that worked on Bleach and Hydrogen Peroxide. Tubing ran from the apparatus and into the terrarium. It was a rather neat setup, but extremely crude compared to your fancy shmancy O2 bottle and sensors and humidifier.

Adding O2 to a grow tank would be a complete waste of time. The air is 20 percent O2 and this not a limiting factor in mushroom development, so increasing the O2 concentration would not help. They do not consume enough O2 for this to be a problem. Even humans breath only use 4% of the O2 they breath in.
Removal of CO2 is important as high CO2 lvels inhibit growth and pin head formation, so a far simplier method of removing this can be used, such as a air pump (like those used for fish tanks)
Dont waste your money on all that kit. O2 cylinders are expensive to fill up and the air from pressurised bottles is extremely dry to prevent them corroding and would add to problem of humidification.

have fun with your plans, prof!
personally, i'd say you're aming it all a little bit too complex: instead of all those consensors, just put the humidifier on a timer. instead of that fancy hygrometer with all those probes, just get a nice simple analogue reptile one, stuck to the tank's inner wall. and you an get by without both the dripshield and the oxygen tank!
still, it's all fun
