Yep. Great movie. Very trippy. The Alice in Wonderland of anime. The only thing I didn't like about it was the dubbed version, whoever did the voice for chihiro, her voice is grating, esspecially when she cries! OTher than that though, the dubbing is pretty good. Havent seen it subtitled yet.

I saw it in the theatres, the first chance I got...

I loved it. I don't know why, either. The music was incredible, sure, but it just seemed so... childish. Even as I was thinking how childish the movie was, though, it was just so incredibly addictive! I found I couldn't stop watching it, feeling immersed in the movie. I think it's definately a movie to watch while shrooming, which I'll try fairly soon.

Yeah, I'd seen an interview that indicated it was aimed more as a children's tale, but with the same timelessness as Alice, Wizard of Oz and the like.

Great stuff. Was thinking of sitting some people who've never seen it before in front of it while tripping just to watch them boggle at the characters and actions.

Spirited Away is very fun and trippy. It is aimed at a younger audience, but is not necessarily for kids. Can be enjoyed by people of all ages strait or trippin'.

If you like that be sure to check out (as Notnecstoned pointed out) Princess Mononoke. Worth your time.

Edited for Spelling

That's what I was worried about, it being too childish. The story sounds
unique and the animation looks great. I am actually buying it tomorrow
it's good to know it can be enjoyed by all ages.

I watched the movie tonight, I thought it was interesting. I'll have to watch it again though due to talking, smoking bud and drinking during the movie.

What had me laughing my ass off was when Haku says he was a spirit of a river
and then the girl says the land the river was on is now apartment buildings

Word!!
I loved that movie...

until they went to the other witches house and she turned out to be all grandma-like, and then the aforementioned quote...

the ending RUINED that damn movie.
fucking disney...

but My Neighbor Totoro was flawless...

okay, it was a kid's movie but so was alice in wonderland.

and princess mononoke was awesome

has anyone ever seen lupin?

that was made my the same guy.

It did take a turn for the "cheesy" after arriving at "Grandma's house". But didn't take too much away from the overall movie for me. They had to have some message in there for all the kids and parents out in the audience to justify all the crazyness from the time before.

The animation is so well done, especially at times like when they are
running through the flowers. Definately reminicent of Alice in Wonderland
So HAS anyone watched the tripping? The only other Miyazaki movies I
seen where I bought this one were Castle in the Sky and the Special Delivery one
are they not too good?
