From what i've seen B+ is a good beginners strain but if your looking for potency i'd go with PR or Ecuador.

I think the whole "one strain being more visual than another" is a placebo affect. The chems that make u trip are the same..... its just how much of it is in each shroom.

I believe that doing an extraction on any strain will give you the best visuals
Check the advanced forum; there's a thread over there that has some great info on extraction.

Here's a thread about that: Do different strains = different trips? i think that there are different effects from different strains. B+ is very easy to grow. ecuadors and amazons are real easy too. i suggest ecuadors. B+ though if you want a really forgiving, hearty, easy-to-grow strain. don't worry too much about how fast a strain's mycelium is. it's not going to make that much of a difference.

i say equador -potent and pretty fast colonizers. when you think about a strain remember pinning time and ability to flush out decent yeilds on brf/verm. the vendors who say cap size=____ stem size=____is bullshit because they are using 3 inch deep substrates -on grains or compost or manure and newbies do not realise the difference. prs- take long time to pin and tiny flushes on brf/verm. equador-pins in 3-4 days in terrarium and excellent yeild, potency gt -takes forever to pin (15 days in terr. for my friend) but its a good teacher because its forgiving, fairly decent flushes if you can get a nice pinset.

Any strain of THAIS are good for beginners , they colonize very good , and are forgiving .
As far as visuals go , so far the best for that , for me and my crowd are PESA's , they also have real good body rushes that I have not experienced with others , but I have not yet eaten every strain that is available .
There are strains that are "very" potent , but most of those are wood loving types adn are much more dificult to grow . Azures I believe are one such species .
Good Luck PS The more you eat of "any" species the more visuals you will have . IMO ! But I love to eat mass quantities !
-------------------- Any information I give is not intended to aide you in the production of potentialy illegal substances !None of my exp comes from growing illegal varities , so take it as you will .
So with that said here is our mission statement .

I'll have to say PESA's were very potent and very easy to grow. Also very beautiful mushrooms! Malabars seem to grow like crazy too.
Peace and I'm sure you'll do well with whatever strain you decide upon.
