Quick Millet question??

Greetings from Marzzz,
hey all, was wondering something... Now normally the procedure that my robots use for preperation for wheat berries is this.. Simmer the Wheat berries for about 20 min submerged in water untill tender..then strain and rince with a peroxide/distilled water mix, jared in quarts with a thin thin thin line of verm on the bottom, PCed for 60 min at 15psi, cooled in the PC then inoculated... I have seen GREAT results doing this, now this is where my question is.. the Robots picked up some organic Millet this year, and has never really tried this way before, they were wondering if this same method would work, and if organic millet was as bad as people say. with that ive looked at a few millet teks, and never got a straight answer about water ratio.. if anyone can help feel free to post your opinion... Blessed Be Lost

I found when i boiled or simmered millet that it became too wet.So i put the amount in need n a bowl, pour boiling water over it and soak for 24 hours, rinse, jar, microwave 3 mins on full, steam for 1 hour, microwave 3 mins on full. and this seem to work for me.

how would one "steam" cause i figure you are using water to steam, so if your going to do that in the first place why not simmer with a less water ratio?

Steaming using a vegtable steamer instead of a pressure cooker, so you having a pressure cooker wouldnt need that step, instead you would replace that with 60mins in the p.c.Boiling it makes the kernels split and swell ive found, making it a gooey mess.

Cousin IT just puts milo.millett mix straight into jars half pinters (1/3 cup of grain to 35-45mls waterper jar ) puts in AC for 50 min at 250*F 15PSI . But Cousin IT uses grain with no coating , or vitamins , so no need to rinse doing his method . Let cool overnight , use as normal . PS If doing syringe injection to inoc the grain , fill jars with another full tabelspoon of grain and add another 10 mls of water . This makes the jars fuller , when doing agar inocs , less is better cause it leaves you room to shake the jars thru colonization . This is for half pinters to do bigger just multiply amounts to fit size jar using . So a quart would be 4x the mentioned amounts . Good Luck
