You dont need to cut off parts of the cake because of pre invitro pinning. just pick off the pins. Im assuming your casing them so I dont think you will have any problems with pins forming but be prepared to wait atleast a week or more.

After re reading your message it seems like your doing pf style and birthing cakes... in that case you dont have to remove pre-invitro pinning just let it grow as is. I would suggest you case what is left of that cake though... just do it SOS style its easy.

I cant case right now..for variouis reasons. But you havent aswered my first Q, does orientaion of the CAKE matter? also, the pins are all turning blue..i think it may be from them touching the sides of the jar when i was pulling the cake out, if pins get touched, bumped, bruised, or whatever, do they automatically abort?-because all the pins were bruised when i took them from the jars.

I dont think the orientation of the cake matters bro, They will grow hanging upside down from a string if thats what they have to do, and I wouldnt worry about bluing pins or mycelium just chill and be patient!
