So I have to agree, it's okay.
I'll probably spend some quality time with it tomorrow morning and get a better view on it.
I don't know I still put it in the doom 3, quake 4, unreal 2 category. I mean it's an old school game redone, just like doom 3, quake 4, unreal 2. they claim it's an original formula, but I don't think so. it's nothing like duke 3d.
it was better then I thought it would be though, just like you said. the monster truck gameplay was pretty bad ass, the rest of it was kind of lame with the exception of a few things. I really wish he would see a true duke 3d sequel, but it doesn't look like we will.

Zero punctuation gave it a rave review.
Dunno if he is being serious or not though.
Check out his real review.... http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/3581-Duke-Nukem-Forever-for-real-this-time

Despite all the bad press, I actually liked DNF mainly because it was almost like a trip back. But I think alot of the bad publicity came from the fact that it has nothing to epically stand out for other than its little hilarity quirks. I also think bad publicity stemmed from everyone's big expectations for it to rock everyone's socks off in every way humanly possible because it's been such a long wait. I personally saw it as this: Lots of engine changes (so they had to re-build it every time) lots of studio changes, and flashing through the eras of gaming evolution isn't easy. Next Duke game will be even better than this one, this duke game is lucky to have ever been shown the light of day. I bought my copy of DNF and enjoy it; thus far, no regrets.

well I hope so, because I will admit it's decent, but it SUCKS compared to duke 3d. I'm hoping duke 3d next gen will be nice, but who knows
