Pan subbs?
    #1477290 - 04/20/03 09:42 PM (13 years, 7 months ago)

Went huntin today. Didn't find one mush till i was heading home than i saw some growing up out of a clearing in the grass. Some white stuff, mabey an old spot in the cow field where lots of manure had docomposed. They were at most 1 inch tall black at the very edge than brown and lighter in the center of the cap. The stem is white thin and hollow. I also found some other ones nearby 2-3 inches tall, little domed caps. Thin stems. White all over except the gills which look black

Does anybody have pictures of pan subbs? Its the only other active mushy in texas 'cept cubes.

Here is a link to some specimens I found:

http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=Forum3&Number=838184&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1

They were found in Oregon. The specimens you are likely to have in Texas will be larger. The pics later on in the post should be representative of the caps you should see. Take a spore print.

Thanx guys, those are some great links. This is a wonderfull hobby. I love being outdoors anyways, and i was so stoked when i actually found something this morning. Last year i went hunting once in that same field and found 11 different types of fungus! didn't bother to identify them though.
