white specks

My friend did up some WBS a while ago. The jars sat for about 3 days after sterilization before inoculation. Its been about a week since then and there is almost no mycelial growth in the WBS compared to the rampant growth on Pcrn done at the same time.

Now he looks at the jars and there appears to be white specks on the grain.

He is using polyfill.

Moisture could be an issue . White specks could be early signs of germination , give it some more time . Do not shake them , patience .

They're definately not centralized.

Each grain has them. It almost looks like salt.

That's most certainly contamination in a early stage of development. You can wait and see what happens but i think they are indeed contaminated.
