    #14771759 - 07/15/11 12:06 PM (9 years, 9 months ago)

Me and a buddy knocked up 16 1/2 pint jars half lipa and half b+ its been almost a month and every jar is 80% or more colonized they are all still growing slow but steady because I keep drawing lines so i know they arnt stopping. The mycelium is looks like roots/veins if that's good? Couldn't find anybody's jars taking this long any ideas Whatsup?

Patience.  It's vital to success in this hobby.

EDIT:  I've had jars take 2 months+ to fully colonize and still produced some fat flushes of mature mushrooms.

You've just gotta give them some more time.  If they are still growing, they are still growing.

:whathesaid: mine took a long time to colonize, but none ended up stalling and I got a good yield.  All is good if none have stalled.

Sounds like pent up Co2.

As mycelium consumes its food source it releases co2 which gets pent up in th jar, 0 to 5,000ppm will allow a normal growth rate but when it gets up to 10,000ppm the co2 becomes toxic and the mycelium slows.

Flip the jars upside down for 48 hours or until they're finished, it wont take long after you get the co2 levels down.

I don't like flipping the jars as it can cause contams to set in.  Co2 will slow things down and this could be the case if you have foil on the lids take it off other wise slow and steady is fine.

Solid solid, great info guys. I was just reading people saying after a month to give up but I wasn't too worried cause the mycelium looks white as snow and it's still truckin along.

Thanks again

My buddy just let me know one of em finished <3 first grow is fuhn
