I actually posted on this subject awhile back. I break out in hive every so often, don't know exactly why it happens to me. I took some antihistimine before hand on a few trip just to see if it would prevent me from breaking out in hives. I didn't break out in hive on either trip, but then again it's not every trip I break out in hives. . .so my results are rather inconclusive.
Here's what I have come to hypothesis about hives and shrooms. Some people are just allergic to shrooms and it will always be that way and they will get hives. Some people might even develope an allergy to shrooms as well. I wasn't allergic to pollen when I was younger, now every spring is hell for me because I developed an allergy. Some people are not allergic to shrooms at all and still get hives. Why is this? Because of contamination. Many people are allergic to bacterial excretions and mold. Just becuase your cake/casing look contam free doesn't always mean they are. Especially when they get into the later flushes and the cakes/casings are old.
Then again, your hives could be just what you think they are, stress blisters. I haven't heard of that happening anyone on here though, but I'm sure it's possible. If you get hive again after a future trip, perhaps try taking some antihistimines before you consume any shrooms.
