start your spore syringe in jars of rye - pressure cooked old school - then transfer the colonized grain to cardboard mixed with chips
- get chips from local tree trimmer places - and also stores sell different brands of "smoking chips" for grilling food - they work GREAT and you can pick diff kinds of wood
0- use the best high quality organic soil ( with mycorhizzal bacteria ) and they will LOVE IT -
once you got a jar with rhizo's on wood - let it colonize the whole jar - be patient - and then start expanding your jars slowly but surely - make atleast three outta the one good one - maybe four
throw jars in beds of chips and soil outdoors in the spring and hope for fruits in the fall - the next fall FOR SURE
Woodlovers are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO easy - waiting patiently is the hard part - but your first fruits will make it ALL WORTH WHILE
Goodluck

sure man - spores gotta get the initial pressure cooked sterile environment - then from there on - its as easy as tossing around colonized woodchips - open air - no worries about contams - they EAT EVERYTHING

be patient with the woodlovers - but yeah your best bet would be the WBS or rye berries - then go to chips as fast as you can - you'll be amazed how strong they are on wood

It's never too late! But you might not see fruits this year.
Get them in the ground asap IMO, and you might see some fruits in the fall. If not, keep them moist and shaded, and you should see them in the fall of 2012.
