Agar's GLC method problems!

Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've had many successes and very few failures in my journey of cultivation. I've mastered pf teks and recently, rye has been a favorite.
I knocked up a rye jar from MS of GT and at colonization, I tried to make a GLC according to Agar's tek. I got most of the mycelium water out and it had a kind of yellowish tint to it.
I used the syringes to knock up 24 more rye jars like an hour later. It's been about 1.5 weeks and literally I have seen 0 growth. Looks like the mycelium is growing ok inside the syringes inside my fridge. Can anybody tell me what the problem could be? I've heard that this mycelium water starts grown within days.

I've run into that issue recently. I just made a new jar of GLC. Which can suck if you don't have any first or second gens left..

no growth is likely bacteria or yeast. This can be verified by opening a jar and giving it a whiff.

So even though there's no visible bacteria and the rye is dry, contams in bacteria form are preventing mycelium growth?

Everyone else might be right, but it may be due to you not getting any mycelium in the jars you were knocking up. I could be wrong.

Possible but rare, it's hard to get no mycelium at all in any jar. But totally possible, and something worth checking.

You did let the rye completely colonize first right? your first post makes it sound as though you tried to make a GLC when you saw your first spot of myc. when I make a GLC its always clear with bits of myc floating around , no yellow

The GLC was fully colonized, almost solid like a cake, was a bitch to break up

I had 60 cc syringes, to be honest not sure if I could see the mycelium in the syringes, but after being in the fridge for a week, I see clumps of it growing

Bacteria. Test a bit on some agar if you like. Or shoot some into a regular karo or honey LC, watch it turn cloudy in a couple days.

The master GLC jar had bacteria? The master GLC jar was in a batch with 12 other jars which are colonizing a coir mix quite nicely right now though.

Assuming the jars are contam'd with bacteria, can I re-pc them and try knocking up again?

I'm gonna try to knock up a small jar of rye with the glc and see what happens... 24 jars of rye hurts balls

Here check this place out, they're the cheapest I've seen for rye berries. www.nutsaregood.com
While the loss of 24 jars would suck for me, with that site in mind, it's really just the time that it took to make 'em not the cost of 24 cups of rye. And the environment won't mind to get back some of its organic material, especially if you compost.

Na it wasn't the price, just the time, my local co-op has berries for like 99 cents a lb.
