Buying 1/2Pint Premade Substrate Jars on Ebay?

Hello everyone!
Im brand new to the forums and had a question for you guys.
I was originally planning on making my own substrate and steralizing the jars using steam, but then I stumbled upon a few ebay auctions for premade, sterilized jars with substrate. Heres a few links:
http://cgi.ebay.com/6-super-substrate-mushroom-growing-pint-jars-pf-tek-/290564587394?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a6ffbf82
http://cgi.ebay.com/brown-rice-flour-vermiculite-mushroom-substrate-6-jars-/280706092491?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item415b630dcb
http://cgi.ebay.com/PF-Logic-pt-WBSF-Mushroom-Grow-Substrate-Jar-Single-/260605632919?pt=Fertilizer_Soil_Amendments&hash=item3cad4e6197
I noticed that each seller uses a different substrate, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of these seller. Im very tempted to buy some of these premade jars just for the ease of use.
If I were to buy these, which substrate mix would be best for B+?
Thanks!

just make the jars yourself. its definitely a better idea. especially if you want to learn something. PF tek jars are simple to make. bulk is easier than pf tek imo.

If you aren't going to make the jars yourself at least get them from a reputable sponsor and not from someone who probably didn't make the jars right in the first place. though I suggest you do it yourself

Make your own PF jars. Don't change the formula. It works, and it works well. Once you feel comfortable, then move on to buying a PC.

Yeah I really want to make them myself, but I became very confused after trying to find one substrate that was easy and worked well.
I watched the 4 part series on PF Tek jars, and I thought I could do that because I already have vermiculite, so I would only need the Brown rice flour (and perlite for the tank).
If you could, please link me to this bulk technique you say is easier then PF teck.
Edit: Is this the proper way to make PF tek jars: http://www.mushroomvideos.com/BRF-Pf-Tek

that is the best way to make pf tek jars, and bulk isn't easier but you will get more for your buck

Oh good, I was hoping that would be the case. Now I just have to find the best place to buy Brown Rice Flour and perlite.
Would this combo be correct for making pf tek jars?:
Jars: http://www.amazon.com/Jarden-Home-Brands-Mouth-Canning/dp/B0000BYD0F/ref=sr_1_3?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1310498931&sr=1-3
BRF: Not sure which to buy, theres about 100 on amazon lol
Perlite: http://www.amazon.com/Perlite-Professional-Grade-18Qt-Bag/dp/B001V6WXEI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1310499222&sr=8-2
The vermiculite I have isnt amazingly fine and isnt very coarse so I think its the correct size. It looks almost the same as in the video.

Yeah thats probably a good alternative, but if I can find a good place to buy Brown Rice Flour, I think it would be easy enough to just make a few PF Tek jars myself. Im not going for a huge operation, jut a small test run if you will.

Yeah there is no reason not to get like 5 or 10 quarts in spawn bags for the same price you would get maybe 2 quarts worth of PF jars.
Go to you local grocery store and find brown rice, grind it yourself, and a dozen half pint wide mouth Kerr jars. You won't even spend $15. Don't bother buying perlite yet, you have to succeed in colonizing jars first.

Alright, Ill do that. However, which method do you suggest I follow? The PF Tek method as shown on his DVD's? Or is there a better method in that huge list I should know about?
EDIT: BTW I already have a pressure cooker, if that makes a difference.

Do RogerRabbit's (Marc's) PF Tek. In fact, anything he says in video or posts, do it. Read through each one of those links (specifically the mono tub stuff) and get to know what they're talking about (or just watch the vids, then look through the links). Once you're done with that, start in on bulk.
Feel free to PM me and I'll help you along the way.

Do not buy anything from these people and especially not PF Jars. In the underground sub culture of "magic mushrooms" there are dozens of rip-offs and people who want to make a quick buck through sales of such dumb things as this one. Youre being ripped off.
I am sick of seeing how this trade gets used by low-lifes who try to squeeze money out of decent new growers. The price for making one single PF Jar is less than 2 dollars, so why buy them? The same goes for spore needles and prints; which are fairly simple to make at home and the more experienced grower should learn to make them, as to avoid having to by more and more needles; that can be made at a fraction of the cost anyways.
The less money that goes into the trade, the better. More money, more sales and more crap means more criminality, more scams and more bullshit.
There is no reason to make it simple, as you will not learn a got damn thing from that. If ones is serious about this trade, do it yourself.

If you don't have the ambition and the knowledge to make your own cakes you don't have any business even attempting to try your hand at this science. You have to know and master all steps to be able to get a hold on all this., you cant just skip procedures not learning all about them and expect to know what's going on down the road. My advise is to study study and study then try and try again. Good luck.

This seems like the best option, so I will go with RR's PF Tek. Ill get on reading all of that stuff and I will definitely PM you, seeing as I have lots of questions because Im so new. However, although Im new, I do get very focused on whatever Im currently working on, and I am a perfectionist, so hopefully I will be able to get this thing going in the right direction.
Also, I have ordered a syringe of B+ from Ralph's which I heard is a reliable seller. I heard this is a good strain to start with, and if this works, Ill move on to bigger and better thing later.

That looks pretty sketchy. Why would you buy already colonized myc, from someone online? It's like asking to get a search warrant for your house. I wouldn't even buy edibles like that. If nothing else, you potentially avoid a whole lot of stupid questions. I wouldn't expect cops to know the difference between oyster myc and a "magic mushroom" grow op.

he's talkin about pre-sterilised brf jars just like pre-sterilised spawn bags it has the spawn material but it has not been inoculated so no live mycielium until you do the dirty work which is hopefully clean.

ah, well one of the ebay pics had colonized jars.
In that case it will be expensive, dry, and shaken a whole lot by the time it gets to you. Still not worth it.

Yeah i think of that sometimes. Which is probably why Ive never heard of anyone getting raided without basically asking for it. I bet there are ALOT of older people out there or whatever that enjoy growing their edibles.

Before I joined this site. I watched some videos on growing my own edibles. Also, before joining this site, I have purchased bags upon bags from that tons of fungi dude.
When I received my spawn bags..They were fully hydrated bags and nice looking rye. I know its a game of chance but for the most part. 4 weeks max is my full colonization wait *(while using his bags)

I learned this lesson the hard way, i purchased 12 jars from a guy on ebay & this dude sent me some jars with some gooey white shit inside and there was no holes on the lid lid fir gas exchange like he claimed, he also forgot the dry layer of vermiculite on top.
