Is it too late to case my mini-monotub?
    #14749400 - 07/11/11 02:10 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I spawned 2 quarts of rye colonized with B+ to straight coir in a 1:2 ratio with NO substrate additives. The mycelium LOVED the coir...full colonization in around 4 days. I'm not kidding, 4 days. Knotting in 6. I have a small (3 gallon?) tub and a medium (12 gallon?) tub. Both are completely colonized, and the smaller one has a hyphal knot that has almost formed into a pin.

My question is, should I go ahead and case with 60/40 Verm/Peat, or should I just fruit it uncased? Need to make a decision fast, these things look like they really want to fruit.

I have at my disposal:

Coir
Verm
Gypsum
Peat Moss

Any suggestions?

Cubes fruit fine uncased when spawned to bulk, especially in a mono. If you insist on casing then get some hydrated lime for use with your peat moss as a buffer. Peat Verm Gypsum and Hydrated lime would be good casing.
