Hey Shroom people. I grow B , pf tek, on BRF. but my shrooms always grows from the bottom of cakes, I believe that's a sign of low humidity. It's quite warm in summer, about 24-25 celsius, and humidity meter (a cheap one, I don't think it's accurate) shows 86-88%. i'm using compact ultrasonic humidifier http://s7v1.scene7.com/is/image/JohnLewis/230407900?$product$ it's running on half it's power so you only can see very little of fog going out of it. If I run it on full power, FC is full of fog and I believe it's way too much humidity, even meter is still showing about 88%. how to increase humidity without making everything soaking wet in warm temp? I also read somewhere that fog is not good for cakes as it condenses on it and does some harm. What do you think? thanks people.

Not necessarily. They could be fruiting on the bottom because you're not misting enough to replace the moisture that evaporates from the top of the cake, which is the main pinning trigger. Don't fix what isn't broken. Made in china so-called hygrometers are responsible for more 'humidity problems' than any other factor. RR

See first whether you can calibrate yours. A new one is just as likely to be bad, there's no way to say. You might get a good one, or not. I've had as good luck with digital ones as analogs.
