Subtrate question (wbs&brf)

Just wondering if anyone has mixed wbs and brf?
If so what was the ratio, and did anyone use vermand/or gypsum with the mix?
Has anyone had good results with something like this?
Any advice on the topic would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Eh, Im still working on producing my first pinset here. Got a few things in the FC now. But my Jars I have colonizing now are comprised of 50/50 Millet/Safflower bird seed. Measured out for 8 pint jars worth of cakes. Then after the soaking and rinsing, instead of letting it drain I mixed in about 4 tablespoons of BRF roughly. Enough to sop up the extra moisture from the bottom of the bowl.
Granted my spores were almost shot. Sitting in storage too long. But the one cake that did take is growing like wildfire. Saw the first signs of growth 48 hours ago, and already id call my jar 40-60% colonized
Granted I'm still a newbie, but heh. Seems to be working so far. Will update with pics and the flush weight once I get the cake fruiting. One would figure that replacing the verm in a cake with WBS would only give the cake more nutrients for some more flushes
*Crosses fingers*
God I cannot wait to play with this mixture with some Liquid Cultures

Grind up the wbs and mix with other ground up grains, works great!! I've done multigrain cereal ground up mixed with brf, ground wild rice, ground wbs, verm, gypsum, coffee, all that.
All that stuff works great for cakes etc (even ground rye)
the more you mix substrates, the better it all can work :-) I've heard people even add poo to the mix and come out with some bad ass cakes!

lol maybe if you're only making one cake... otherwise just use a magic bullet or a coffee grinder

Thanks for the tips!
If I were to use wbs, brf, gypsum, and water would I still follow a tek in which I would "pasteurize" the wbs and what not... then just do a simple pc for all the jars...(60mins,15psi work?)
*instead of wbs would someone suggest plain millet(mixed with the same above ingredients?)
Also does anyone have any tips at all on how I should mix these ingredients and at what ratios. Secondly, what would one recommend at how full I should fill the jars, (1/2 full, 1/3... more...)I'm using half pint jars if that makes a difference and inoculating with a LC
...one more thing, slapphappypill, have you found a multigrain cereal that works well in particular, this idea sounds interesting.
Thanks everyone

Once again im still newb, but Im pretty sure you need to PC the Birdseed. Pasteurization wont kill all the harmful shit in grain.
I used pure millet in one of my cake sets already, it worked well. cakes were a bit brittle from the fine grain seed, but if your spawning to bulk that shouldn't be a problem.

If you grind WBS, you can boil it fine without PC
