Erislandy Lara ROBBED in a split decision against Paul Williams....

Seriously. I've lost respect for the horrendously biased American boxing community. The whole fight you have the ref yelling at Lara in spanish 'sueltalo' (let go of him) when he wasn't doing the holding so Williams could get a shot in. Even then the whole fight was a clinic where Lara punished Williams, schooled him in boxing technique and power punch accuracy, all while he's undersized in height and weight....

Paul Williams is a coward who goes after smaller fighters and still loses. And thanks to HBO and the american boxing community we have lost an opportunity to see a Cuban Light Middleweight in contention for a title. It was clearly a racist fight, Williams was favored by all the commentators during the fight, however afterwards everyone agreed that he had gotten his ass whooped thoroughly by the smaller Lara, even Roy Jones was embarrassed.

What the hell are you talking about, racism?  I love people who spend their life looking for the chance to cry racism, even when there is clearly none.  Have you even looked at what the boxing community is saying about the fight?  Every writer has made it a point to say that Lara was robbed and that the judges were incompetent.

What HBO telecast were you watching, all 3 announcers were saying Williams was washed up!  The entire fight they kept saying he couldn't stop Lara's overhand left, they talked about how Lara had no damage other than the headbutt and kept pointing out the damage to William's face.  I mean come on man, Kellerman in the middle of the fight asked William's trainer if he thought it was time to retire.  For the last 4 rounds, Roy Jones was even suggesting the fight should be stopped for safety reasons.  Kellerman, Jones and Poppa each gave Williams only 3 rounds and Harold Letterman gave him 2 rounds.  I mean come on, get your eyes and ears checked if you think it was a pro-Williams broadcast.

In regards to the ref, if you listened, the only thing he warned Lara about was not to be pushing down on the head which he clearly did on several occasions.  The ref wasn't warning Lara about holding, he was telling Williams to stop holding Lara's arm.  He warned Williams at least a dozen times.

The real problem is with people like you who need to find racism so badly that you can't even figure it out that from the 1st round, everyone thought Lara was the better fighter.  If you want to be pissed, aim it at the judges and quit making false accusations about the very guys who supported your position!

I mentioned racism once as a factor and it's enough for you to think that I don't even agree that Lara was clearly superior from the get go? They obviously took a shit on the foreigner in this instance, and the thought never crossed your mind that there's a fear of Cuban talent overshadowing one of the few veteran American contenders in this weight class?

You're exaggerating my statements; all I'm saying is that it was clear that the guys behind the mics wanted to see Williams win, but they couldn't disagree that Lara was whooping his ass.

This is clearly not a conducive environment for other talented Cuban fighters to want to enter the professional boxing arena is ALL IM SAYING SO CHILL OUT on your anti-racism crusade. Imagine being a really good boxer in Cuba and seeing Lara get cheated like this. I would certainly think about hanging up my gloves and going to the UFC before trying these judges out in such a corrupt sport. They tainted his career, and made it so much harder for him to reach a title shot while promoting an American dinosaur. That IS discriminating.
