I thought it was too good to be true... Thats why I came here... Its so much easier to just go to balingup in wa and pick the right ones... Hooray for making noob mistakes

ah balingup, every west aussie tripper's nirvana... miss that joint a lot, except for the fact that the local constabulary are onto it and hide round corners!  My first season in melbs too man, still getting schooled up but getting pretty good at this ID thing.  Keep at it and keep your eyes peeled!

Yeah balingup is policed real heavily during the season. I actually had a really nice spot i used to hunt in a town called capel, just inland about 50-100kms from balingup, cops never bothered us there

Serious, I had a mate whose parents had a huge property in Capel, he never said anything about shrooms on his property but now I think about it there must have been some, perfect conditions for it.  Didn't matter anyway, same bloke had heaps of mates from the SW who knew all the spots, including ones in Balingup the cops didn't know about it.  And they used to hit Balingup right at the start of the season before the cops realised it was go time anyway.  Great blokes to have on your side... these days I have to do all the hunting and gathering myself...

Went hunting yesterday for the last time for the 2011 sub season.

Found only about 10 subs all up in the bush but what was funny is that most of the subs I found were growing on a tree. I saw them there before but this time I found lots more.

What kind of shroom is this? Is this a reishi??

Went hunting for some scrub worms yesterday in the bush. ended up finding a woodchip pile in the middle of nowhere with 2 healthy subs growing out of it, im sure it will beaming with subs at the start of next season things are looking a bit spent by this stage. will post pictures of it next time i need some wormies.

yeah i noticed this season was very 'stunted' as well. we didnt get the solid week or two worth of heavy rain that was needed (atleast in my area) to have things flourish. it was mostly a period of rain followed by a fwe sunny days that dried it out again.

ohh well. just have to be content with what mother nature provides for us right? :smirk:

Went to a patch yesterday and found a few, it's pinning up as well so I'll be back in a few days. A cardboard transfer I was trying cobwebbed up today as well, I'll try something a little more sterile next.

I live out bush and the season has been really strange here.  Got 10's and 20's in late May early June then it slowed right down to the point where I'm not finding any at the moment.  This is from some bush patches that produce 1000's every year.  I hope all the recent rain produces results but I don't think we'll get a huge flourish again.  I haven't got my year's worth yet, help!

I'll get some pics once I get them home, it's under km from a cop shop on a main road, no time for photos!
