Just so you guys know.. Mushrooms, especially cubensis, grow in 90 degree weather but they do better in 70-80, but they must be at least 80-90% humidified

also.. learn to distinguish thick stalky mushroom pins from aborts.. You may pluck out the wrong ones really early because they may look like an abort. An abort can be the same size for a week but the caps are are darker and texture is softer and stickier. The stalky mushroom pins that look like aborts may take 3-4 days to grow all the way. The slender light brown pins may grow overnight or in two days.. Just some tips ..

I think this is as good a place as any to ask. Following the PFtek I just inoculated a couple jars. I only waited 20mins after taking the pot off the heat before I inoculated. Was this enough time, or did I just waste a bunch of spores?

honestly bud that really wasn't enough time to let them cool. spores are very sensitive to heat, even if its a 10 degree jump that quick will kill off a lot of them. but remember also it only takes a couple to start colonization, it just takes longer. I dont personally think thats enough time. my jars were still warm to the touch after around 20 mins so i gave them a extra hour to cool. even if it feels cool on the outside the inside of the jars retain heat. the only way youll know if you wasted some spores is wait it out bud and see what happens. good luck man.

Yes, mushrooms grow in nature in 90F to 100F weather because they're a tropical species.
One should never inoculate hot jars.
How someone thinks a cool BRF jar can still be hot inside needs a basic physics course. When you can pick up a cold cup of coffee and burn your lips by drinking it, I'll believe that the inside of a jar can be hot while the outside is cool. RR
