I got some cakes that look almost exactly like that right now. I'm not an expert lol. I'm only 1 and a half grows ahead of u. The cake will start knotting all over and before you know it you will get some pins and after that you will get more and more.

I added a pic from this morning. I think I over misted, as it is blueing. that blue on the top in shavings that fell of the lid.

One quick unrelated question. When using a Glc should I take it out of the refrigerator and let it warm up to room temp first? Thanks.

most of the growth is right in that one area. I think I am going to have to build a kick stand for that side.

just let it grow, should be fully matured in 3 or 4 days and remember not to directly spray your cakes spray your terrarium walls and whatever bounces off of that into your cakes is ok, try not to mist too much when fruiting as water droplets aren't the best thing for developing pins. my first grow was (is) on 1/4 pint cakes which grow faster but have weaker and smaller fruits but were(are, have been lol) a rad learning experience on both how to grow and how to trip without spazzing out lolz.  can't wait to harvest agaaaiin :zoidberg:

This cake was left over sub from 2 batches. about 50% wbs and 50% brf/verm. It did the best out of all the cakes I made. Colonized faster, pinned first. I thought that was kind of funny. I have been misting about 2 feet above the fc and letting it settle on the cakes since I noticed the bruising. I am enjoying watching them grow. I might make some more cakes like this left over sub cake. And see how they do. Because I bought the regular mouth half pints, and I think the wbs helped with oxygen.

thats awesome man, i haven't used wbs yet but plan on it in the next month or 2. I like how you can check on your fruits in 2 hours and notice that they've gotten bigger.they grow so much faster than plants.I want to try making poo cakes or poo coir and verm or something other than just verm and brf that has more nutrients and makes better flushes and yields and whatnot.

I also made a small batch of coir/verm/coffee/gypsum just to check the tek. I made them about 8 days ago and they are almost ready to fruit. I am going to fruit them in the sgfc and just take the top off. I might wait till I start seeing pins. But anyway here is what they look like.

I have 4 quarts of wbs ready to spawn. Think I am going to do a minimono with them and the sub mix I used on that small batch..

What a difference a day makes.. My other cakes aren't doing so good.. I think maybe they are only colonized on the outside. 1 of them has 2 pins but they are really fat and seem to only be growing in diameter. I am going to keep misting and fanning but I am not expecting much from them. I am going to get a print from this one, so it is not a total loss. And I made 2 minimono's last night. I am enjoying the heck out of this.

i didnt read any this other stuff said so idk what was said aside from the pictures (which is 1000 words a piece). Mist your CAKES. they are crying blue blood, tears of sadness. mushrooms are 90% water. they like water. these ones want something to drink like moses crossing the desert.

You can tell the moisture content of your cakes by gentally lifting them up to see if they are heavy or not. if they list up real light and feel dry, then you've under misted. When you mist, make sure to mist well enough to actually replace lost moisture, not just a couple of light sprays 2 ft over the FC (not saying thats what you did, just stating for reference)

Might be from other reasons. Might have been just because of orginal water content and being 1st flush. Maybe heavy handling when you birthed, maybe they got stuck in the jars a little. Maybe too high of FAE which is fine once the fruits start to mature(like they will today). If you pick them up and they feel kind of light but the surface is still moist then its more of the internal moisture which should be replenished when you dunk. Make sure you have something floating above your cakes so they are fully submerged when u dunk. Your 2nd flush should be good!

thanks guys I think you are right. I will mist heavier this flush and see what happens. It might be a light issue because I am relying on light from the window. And one of the other cakes has 3 fat azz pins that keep getting fatter and not longer. I saw a post where RR stated that it was from lighting, or poor sub. I know there is a problem with the sub on the straight brf cakes because the were pinning befor they were fully colonized. I have one I am still waiting on and the pin has grown up the side and all the way accross the top lol. I need to find a cheap grow light. I will look for one this week-end. Thanx for taking the time to try and help me.. It is much appreciated.

I believe if you are getting poor lighting they would be stretching towards it giving you long spindly fruits not the fat ones you are sayin it is growin. Probably just have a mutant. Looks like you are doing a good job tho. Might have a bit to much going on an it can make it a pain to handle. My first grow I did 11 cakes an ended up with almost 50grams dry which I thought was great then found out it should've been more around 100+
