10lb lb pound bag of compost how much spore ml/cc content required?

I bought a 10lb bag of compost that has the following mixture/content:
-Manure
-Peat Moss
-Worm castings (similar to manure)
-Shredded Coco coir
-Horticultural grade vermiculite
-Ground gypsum
-Calcium carbonate (the main chemical found in oyster shells. This is used to maintain proper PH).
-Rainwater collected from rainwater buckets (PH level and macro nutrient level tested).
The mixture in the bag was pre-pasteurized and sterilized prior to being shipped to me.
I have several syringes of spore (10ml). How much cc/ml do I need to inoculate this?

Probably all of them 10 lbs is a lot to inoculate with only spores and if the mycelium only starts in one spot it will take a long ass time to colonize. 10 lb bags are probably meant to be inoculated with grains.

You don't think 70-100 ml of water/spore content will make the mixture too wet? It doesn't seem like a very wet/moist mixture in the bag, it looks somewhat dry to me.
Edit - The bag has an inoculation site for syringes. They intended the bag to be injected.

inoculating with spores to bulk substrate its a bad idea.
make some grain spawn and then inoculate your compost for better reults.

Well, I've been dealing with jars for a while. I just don't see how assisting it that much is needed (going to grain and using that to inoculate a bag). I mean, in nature nothing helps it grow like this.

Yes sir, adding that much spore solution can definitely fuck with your moisture content and throw off the whole grow. It shouldnt look wet really, it should be at field capacity and only release moisture if you squeeze it tight.
In nature there is not a 10,000 particles per square foot count of contaminants, in your house there is. That is why we take special precautions.

It would be much better to inoculate with LC. If you have any jars make up a small grain jar, shoot it with spores, then make a grain LC. Won't have to use as much water and it will colonize much faster.

I'm going to use just 20 cc/mls of spore syringe content and see where that takes me. I sprayed the sides of the entire bag through the injection port. The inside of the bag shouldn't have any contams since it was sterilized. The injection port has been saturated with gel alcohol (the kind used to sterilize your hands). It's the same "extremely" contam resistant strain I've used in the past with little to no contam issues occurring.
Guess it's trial by fire. I have some one pound bags coming just in case with the same mixture's. Six one pound bags actually, as a precautionary backup.

make it.
or better yet.
shoot some spores into a quart of grain, and put those grains into your bag.

I just don't see how doing that makes it faster. Have you had a side by side comparison? If it takes two weeks or so to colonize jars of rye, you have to account that time as well.
Now if I had LC to start with and didn't have to take a couple weeks to make it, yes I'd agree, it would be faster than starting with spores.

if you're looking for speed, you want BRF cakes.
they are the fastest from spore to fruit.

Its faster once you put the mycelium into the substrate. The grains can separate and each individual kernel acts as a point of inoculation. When you shoot spores into the bag only 1 out of 200 or 2,000 are going to germinate and start spreading around, not only that but they are all in pretty much the same place.
The speed is necessary because even thought the bag is sterile it wont last. A lot of things will stay contam free for 2-4 weeks but guaranteed it will not stay sterile for ever.

Well, I have time and patience. I was just wondering if anyone has done the 10 lb compost bag before. They sell a lot of them (eBay), so I was hoping someone here has done it.

lots of people use spawn bags with varying amounts of substrates in them.
but RARELY do people use spores to start these bags.

Yeah, I understand where your coming from. I guess what I'm getting at is - can it be done, and has anyone tried?

Ha yeah, well it's a crap shot until I see success or failure. Until then please do share stories if you've tried. :-)
Edit - I'll let you all know though. This way if it does fail other people will know. Or if it works, which is what I can hope for while I have smaller bags that are easier to work with come in.
