unknown species how to proceed

I have taken a clone off an active mushroom that grows in my area. It looks like a cube but grows in wood, so must not be. I'm hoping its an Azurescens. They are a lot stronger than cubes and smaller. ID isn't why I'm here. I don't have any pics so wont happen.
I was just wandering how I should treat this when its ready to fruit. I have just spawned to grow bag tonight and I'm waiting for it to colonize. When it does, should I case? should I cold shock? Should I let over colonize in bag. Not sure as I have only just started on gourmet mushrooms and can't look up fruiting of a mushroom I don't know what it is? Any suggestions would be most appreciated

if you think it may be an azure, treat it like one. if you are not sure treat it like a cubie. what have you gotta loose?
its like having a pet and not being sure what it is. is it a dog? is it a fish? is it a parrot?
and then deciding to feed it dog food just in case!

I doubt. You probably found some Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Should really have taken some pictures for ID just to be sure though... Since it's a woodlover, you have to spawn it to woodchips either to an outdoor bed, or if you're adventurous you can try to fruit it indoors. Here's EASY WOOD LOVER CULTIVATION TEK by Fahkface.

P.S. the reason P. Cubensis is so popular to grow is because it is easy. If you truly have a P. Subbaeruganescens, it will be MUCH harder to fruit...I wish you luck. Cubensis can grow on wood, if you put it there, and subbs don't look anything like cubes, so if it looked like a cube and grew on wood, it's prob. an inactive stropharia sp.

Been eating these mushrooms for years. Pushing 10 years. So I know they're active and can spot them from a mile away.
They do look like google images of Psilocybe subaeruginosa. Should I just treat them like Psilocybe subaeruginosa? I'll have to do some reading. How's it harder to make it pin? I know cubes are aggressive pinners, but do the conditions need to be more precise for P.sub? I was thinking about getting it to colonize, case 50/50 peat verm, then putting in a sgfc outside so there's heaps of fresh air and just keep the moisture up. Any comments? or feedback on this method?

My gf of long ago was shocked when I ate blackberries I found growing by a road. Huge bush full of big fat blackberries, and she wouldn't touch one. "They could be poisonous!"
So I'm inclined to believe OP can find them, and agree a proper species ID is the next step. Then tissue->agar->grain->something->cased with something->fruiting conditions->

If it is an azure, it will only fruit in near freezing conditions, and considering what time of year it is now, it ain't an azure.
