Dry Fruits Have Growths?

How's it going everyone?
Not sure what's going on here. A few of my dried fruits seem to have a weird growth on the underside of the stipe where it connects to the substrate. I have no idea what they are.

These are the same mushroom but they show where the orangish growth is at pretty well. It wasn't there before, unless somehow I missed it.
Also, it was WBS spawned to coir/verm if that matters.

Makes me think you had a small mutant growth that you missed when you harvested. I get a few with first flush PE. I'll try to get a pic for you. It's dead when its dry, so if something grew on there after drying, its not from your cube myc

Hopefully they're just a mutant then haha.
Not sure if that counts for anything but I've noticed the fruits with these growths have slight yellowing on the bottom of the stipe, too.

All stems I've seen have varying degrees of yellow shades to them. No worries there. If you're worried, toss the ball and eat the shrooms. I wouldn't worry myself

Looks like a little pin that formed slightly under the surface to me.

I didn't even think of that. Now that you mention it, one of the mushrooms that had this was perhaps a seed. But the others don't quite have the texture of a seed.

Is that common? Especially to not be noticed fresh? It'd be pretty cool if i made a discovery

Not sure how common that is really, more of a side pin thing than under the surface in my experience. It could just as easily also be a tiny piece of millet from WBS.

I would assume the reason for the texture difference is probably cause he myc consumed the surface, if u really want to know what it is cut it in half with some scissors. If its hard then its a seed but if its soft then its a pin.
