Gorgeous flowers doc!

I just hope their hands are sensitive enough for the spines to have stuck, maybe they learned a lesson.

Those are awesome! I'd probabaly kill those thinking there was something wrong with them and trying to "fix" it. How do those genetics work with self pollinating cacti? Could you essentially reproduce those chocolate colored specimens or are they double recessive alleles?

The colours are just some of a range of what those species might be. The tephrocactus is often propagated by rooting segments but not exclusively. The neochilenia is from seed, and exploding with pups in a way not typical of that species at least whilst on its own roots. There is some lovely chocolates and purples and more in the eriosyce group.

@Mostly_Harmless, those T bridgesii var monstrose sure do grow slowly don't they? I recently grafted a pup of mine to T. cuzcoensis to speed things up a bit and now it's growing really thick looking weiners, check it out:

My two bridgesii monstrose are the slowest growing trichos among the ones I have - quite a few. If I have to show off, here's a flash log of my flowering Echinocereus viereckii ssp. Morricalii :cool2:

Today's victim of random raccoon-related rampage, a little Trichocereus grandiflorus with pups.
Seems unharmed by the adventure, maybe a bit exhilarated.

Here are some of my unknown cacti. The cluster looking one produces some beautiful purple blooms early in the summer. Sorry no bloom pics.

Doc T, sorry to hear that the raccoons got to another of your cactus.  Nice looking Grandiflorious.
