ah balingup, every west aussie tripper's nirvana... miss that joint a lot, except for the fact that the local constabulary are onto it and hide round corners! My first season in melbs too man, still getting schooled up but getting pretty good at this ID thing. Keep at it and keep your eyes peeled!
Yeah balingup is policed real heavily during the season. I actually had a really nice spot i used to hunt in a town called capel, just inland about 50-100kms from balingup, cops never bothered us there

That's really cool. I've come across so many different shapes and sizes of subs this season it's unbelievable. If you don't mind me asking, was the plantation you were searching in big old trees or relatively young and low to the ground? I love hunting in pines but I've found it so much harder to find the right spots and conditions compared to bark beds.

don't think so. it's in a weird place. dogs go wild if you step there, parks very small. and whenever i check them, they're untouched. yeah i flick em. when they start drying up too much for my liking, i pick them and spread them around. isn't the season wrapping up?

No need to flick. If your picking matured subs, they would have allready released thousands of spores. We can be as lazy as we want!

yeah flicking them doesnt do too much for helping the patch out, although im not saying it does nothing.
i tried to feed our kind of pet magpie some shrooms today, it wouldnt eat it. it would grab it out of my hand and take it away but then just drop it on the ground, i spose birds dont really eat fungi naturally. might try to mix some in with mince or something? it wont kill it or anything will it?

If Magpies were supposed to eat them they would. Why the need to feed psychedelics to the wildlife?

Hey guys might be a simple question but would rather be safe, I found about 40 specimens probably 4-5 weeks ago and put them in foil wrapped up then put them in my draws, I had a look at them today as I wana trip tonight, they obviously aren't cracker dry but they are dry and look alright, they aren't moldy but are a litle bit black, should I be right if I make tea out if them? Thanks in advance

if they weren't properly dried and have been sitting for 4-5 weeks i think they will be mouldy.
personally i wouldn't eat them myself, but i am very particular about the shrooms i eat.
it **might** be ok to eat/make tea out of as long as there is no white spots or white/green mould on them.
wait for more opinions though cos i'm not sure

If you dont feel safe with them, look into making an alcohol extraction. It should kill any bacteria/germs.
Take tissue (mycelium or fruitbodies) and dry them and pulverize them a bit. Throw into a blender and add enough methanol or vinegar to cover it 3 times. Blend on a normal speed until the pieces are extremely small, but you should still be able to see individual pieces. Let this sit covered in a glass jar (do not use plastic with methanol, it will get destroyed) for 12-24 hrs, preferrably 24, shaking well occationally. Once it is done sitting, filter the liquid through a metal coffee filter and save the liquid. At this point you can take the remaining tissue from your first extraction and extract it again, using the same procedure. Discard the tissue after you are done extracting it.
Save all the liquid and put it into a shallow container that has a lot of surface area. I have found those glass baking dishes to work very well. Let it sit and evaporate; if you blow a fan over it, it will speed this up. Once it is all evaporated you should be left with a tan-coloured solid residue. This is your end product and should have a good amount of psilocybin in it; put it in gel caps and eat, or whatever you will.
