Best grow kit?

What is the best grow kit for growing some shrooms? Don't tell me that its better to learn to make my own and that shit. I know that, but for right now it's best if I just pay more money and order one online. There are so many out there though, I don't know what would work the best. Help please?

a few of the vendors on this forum sell pre-sterilized pf tek jars by the dozen or individually.
I would buy those to get your feet wet and then you'll have the jars to start doing it yourself.
otherwise buy a mycobag.

I didn't buy any kits, I had most the stuff laying around in the garage. Jars I got from someone who cans salsa alot, they seemed to work fine (only time they got washed was during sterilization)
But... while looking into it, I'd agree, mycobags are quite easy.

this is what I got the very first time I tried this hobby...I can vouch for this guy, top notch.
a mycobag is a vacuum-sealed bag with all the goodies you need inside already sterilized and mixed to the right moisture content, etc. all they require is injecting spores into them.
but if you buy the pre-made pf jars, you will see what they need to look like and you will still have the jars to reuse infinitely.
the mycobag you will just throw out when you're done with it.

Ok thanks, I will probably order those! Also, what did you use for your incubator and fruiting chamber? I think I'm gonna have to make a homemade one, but that should work right?

you do not need an incubator if they are colonizing in room temperature.
watch these videos for a fruiting chamber: http://www.mushroomvideos.com/Terrarium-Tek

Incubator is only needed if you're in some place that won't go to 75-85. As for a fruiting chamber, well, I ghetto rigged a wooden snake terrerium to be a fruiting chamber.

You don't need a pressure cooker. What do you plan on doing once the jars are done? Throw them away?

theres a guy on ebay who sells an awesome kit for 24 dollars, everything is presterelized tons of fungi.com they're on ebay and they have they're own website. I buy growing stuff from him and most kits cost like 100 dollars and it's a ripoff thats why people on here are so against kits. everything you order from him is presterilized but you have to get your spores from someone else. here is a link it's 17 dollars. and he sells sterilized mycobags with all the nutrients that you would need for like 4 dollars, they also come with directions.

That's why premade is not the route recommended by most.

he should go to his local ace hardware and buy a dozen quart jars for ten bucks.
then his whole foods for some rye, or if hes planning on mycologizing for a while: his local feed store for 50 pounds of rye for 16$

ya I agree with you but the kid seems to have his mind set on paying alot of money for a kit. I don't use kits but if I did I'd get one from that guy on ebay only because I don't have a PC.This is supposed to be kind of a cheap hobby

Check out my Sig for a very simple bulk tek using rye and coir. Great for starters, inexpensive as well. Good luck!
