Who wrote the book? Is it about morality from a non-religious perspective?

If they are truly "fundamentalist" you're wasting your time.
True or "fundamental" Christianity is pretty damn moral.
You got a prob with the ten commandments?
I'd say they are pretty darn moral.
The problem isn't Fundamental Christianity, it is the corruption of it.

In my experiences, ethics books spew religious bullshit, so they should actually love it!

Yup, shit would be solid if it was not so perverse. Imagine if people approached life with a christ like consciousness. I don't believe in the christian god, but I cannot deny that the above would be a good thing.

I am reading the "The Science of Self-Realization", it is about krishna concouisness and I cannot believe how similar it is to christianity and other religions. Argues alot of the same points and even tries to validate the negatives of itself.

There's not a whole lot of difference between religion and ethics.
Besides ritual and group status.
Religion tends to branch off into trying to explain the universe, but ethics does a times as well.

The ten commandments are a very primitive deontological system of ethics. Deontology treats ethics as a fixed list of rules that must be followed. The issue with deontology (at least in this early incarnation of it) is that it has a lot of potential to contradict itself; ie it is very possible to imagine situations where lying or killing are (legitimately) morally justifiable.
Christianity itself is not a well-defined thing. Which Biblical texts are applicable and how their interpretations ought to read varies enormously within the religion itself. There are even moral disputes within churches, and in the end, it isn't God that comes down and says what to do, they just break down the situation and make a decision.
Practical Ethics was written in the 1970s and takes a broadly utilitarian ethical perspective. He addresses contemporary moral issues from a practical perspective, using not only convincing arguments as many philosophers are inclined to do but also empirical evidence. Issues covered include War, Duty to the Poor, Abortion, Prohibition & Gambling, Resource Allocation, and more

you might also find this interesting;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Categorical_imperative
Quote:
The categorical imperative is the central philosophical concept in the moral philosophy of Immanuel Kant, as well as modern deontological ethics. Introduced in Kant's Groundwork for the Metaphysics of Morals, it may be defined as a way of evaluating motivations for action.
