Is it normal to be want to be alone?
    #14732252 - 07/07/11 06:56 PM (9 years, 10 months ago)

Sometimes i feel like i don't want to be around or see anyone?

I wonder if its my enviornment or maybe cause i feel comfortable/more relaxed alone sometimes.  I love being with my friends too tho but def seem to feel my solitude a lot lately.

Wanting to be alone sometimes is definitely normal. But people who want to be alone all the time probably have some depression issues.

I dont think it's normal, nor a problem.

Many people cannot stand to be alone.

I prefer to be alone and am very selective about if/how and with who i socialize with.

I have no problems with depression FYI.

(for discussions sake, i live with my girlfriend, so i am never really "alone")

Maybe OP could elaborate on his current situation

From your Passion you gain your Strenght, from your strenght you gain your Power, and from your Power you gain your Victory, only one man can rule this world. YOU!

I think as long as your not scared of being with others, being alone can be healthy. Keep it fresh though, make sure you don't stagnate.

I love to be alone. I like to be with people, but I make it special when I am.

I spent a few months in a new town basically all by myself and I absolutely loved it!

It may not always be healthy to be alone a lot, but it is definitely normal. A lot of people spend good amounts of time in their life alone, or even prefer it.

I always had no problem with being alone. I grew up an only child with a single parent who worked all the time. So being alone is nothing new to me.

My real question for you is, do you feel lonely when you are alone? Even if just some of the time? I know I have felt lonely a lot recently. I got too used to having someone around. My gf was always here with me for like 7+ years on and off. I think that is what got me more used to not being alone than I originally was. I had to get rid of her, she was bad for me. Tried to make it work, wasn't meant to be.

i like being alone. i experience overload when i'm with someone too long. i'm only ok with my mom for long periods of time. i guess thats because she knows me. i can say anything, do anything or say and do absolutely nothing and she's fine with it. also she's a lot like me, our energy is the same, even our auras sometimes. with other people, i'm usually having to adapt myself to them, like adapting to an environment.

we are adapting and shielding all the time but don't know it. some people find this thrilling and others like me don't need that kind of thrill to feel happy or fulfilled. i think it's really all about energy. i find the closer someone is like me, the more time i can spend with that person.

and i don't think it's always about depression. yah, depression can be a reason, but i find among spiritualist and mystics that usually is not the case. the more spiritual i become the less i need senseless chattering. i have experienced higher levels of spiritually when alone. the few times i experienced nirvana i was alone. i actually find most people's energy pull be down.

I prefer to be alone. Then again, I've always been a lone wolf.
Nothing wrong with it, just do whatever makes you happy.
