mildew scent in humidity tent

I made a fruiting chamber from a light, clear plastic bag, the kind dry cleaning come in. Casing inside an aluminum bread pan, then that pan placed inside a larger pan filled with moist verm, all inside this plastic bag that is loosely filled with air and clipped off with a clothes pin. Open twice daily for air exchange and misting. I was also misting the inside of the bag.
Two days in I noticed the scent of mildew when I opened the bag. (FYI I boiled and cooled the water I used to fill the mister.) I removed the casing from the bag and replaced it with a fresh dry bag. I misted the casing and surrounding verm but will not mist the sides of the bag going forward.
I have not read any posts about mildew forming in the fruiting chamber. (I will do a search as soon as I'm done posting this.) The casing still looks clean and nicely colonized. (layer of verm, layer of colonized rye, layer of 50-50 coir/verm) Was I making things too moist? Was it too air-tight? Do I need to allow some air exchange between fannings and mistings?

It sounds like you need more FAE. Keep in mind that oxygen is toxic to most of the competitor microbes with which we fight.
Therefore, smell= bloom of competitor microbes= possibly not enough oxygen.

I cut a few small slit vents in the bag, top and bottom. That should offer some gas exchange.

gas exchange is for spawn bags and jars.
fresh air exchange is for humidity tents and fruiting chambers.

Last I knew, air is considered a gas, so excuse me for mixing the two up.

in terms of mycology
gas exchange and fresh air exchange are worlds apart.
look for a glossary around here or something.

Doing some searches now. While we are on the subject of glossaries, is there a listing of acronyms anywhere. I can figure out most like PC, PE, FAE, etc. PMP is stumping me.
