O2 exchange in my 1/2pt

I was reading on the shroomery today and someone said that they loosen there lids on the 1/2pt jar to allow for air exchange through them and that there jars where about 60% finished. They wee just doing it to spend up colonization of the mycelium? can you do that with out contams, if so im going to spray my room down with some lysol i have and crack open the lids on mine.

If you are using the PF tek with a top verm layer then yes, you should be able to loosen the lid without contamination.
