is there just 1 type of verm or do i have to get a certain one? i am ordering a bulb for my lizard and i saw this on the site. can i use this?

vermiculite is vermiculite, theres just fine vermiculite and coarse vermiculite.

It doesn't really matter its all preference really, fine makes a bigger mess thats about it, you might as well just order

how could you go wrong with medium?

I think the fine is too compact in BRF jars which can slow the myc growth down. But if you dunk and roll your cakes a finer layer can be used, but I never did that. Just used medium for everything that called for verm and it went great.

Seems kinda pricey at $7.59 for an 8 quart bag. I got a 4 cubic foot bag (huge trash bag lookin' thing) for $25 at a local garden center.

I think those 8 quart bags  are only $4 or $5 at the same garden center, Wal-Mart too if you can find it there.
