The water was dark and very blue! Oh I just put 'em on the dehydrator. I'll get back to ya on that.

Looks like a meaty crop - how come you put them in water? I've never heard of that unless you're making tea. Aren't the actives in cubes water-soluble? Or are you making a beverage?

No i was cleaning them in there. I could be dead wrong, but I don't believe they're water-soluble. I hope not anyway.
But then again, maybe that's why the water turned blue... hmm

I've read on this forum that psylocin/psylocibin are water soluble but I don't know myself if that is definitely the case. I think that the characteristic blueing/bruising of fruits is the result of oxidation of alkaloids and can be an indication of the presence of actives. Hope you didn't wash out all the fun dude...
If I was you I'd keep that water and test it out... ?
Edit: ^Oh dear...

That'd suck but I've done it before and it has gone well (the trips). But now this thread has shed light on the matter, and it won't happen again. Thx mr_squee and Synocybin

I'd say that wouldn't be a problem. Any loss would be minimal.

I've never rinsed a shroom in my life - I'm pretty new to growing but I've collected loads over the years and always just dried and eat them, or in fact just eat them. Even when they've come straight out of a field! If a bit of soil and dirt doesn't do you any harm I reckon they're good to go out of the tub.
Drying them thoroughly will of course get rid of some bugs so thats probably best. That is what I would do if I was ever going to emulate this exercise in hypothetical reasoning in reality...
