Outdoor BRF Jar incubation

Hey peeps I hope everyone is well. Got a question for you. BRF tek is the way I am going this time around. That being said, what do you think about incubating the BRF Jars outdoors? The temps are between 76-86F with 40-70% RH for the most part. It would provide nice warm conditions, and good FAE. I read somewhere that many contams that attack our fun guys are from indoors, and not outside, but I have yet to confirm the validity of that statement. My other concern would be flies/bugs especially if they were to lay eggs in the cakes. In any case, any input, thoughts and experience is welcome

You don't need to incubate your jars. Just put them on an open shelf. Furthermore FAE is not necessary during colonization. You only need gas exchange.

Several issues:
I assume you are referring to the pf tek?
During incubation you want GE(gas exchange) not FEA(frequent air exchange). FEA is for when your jars are fully colonized and you place into your fruiting chamber.
Keep ambient colonization temps below 80 degrees.
If the tek was followed properly and with sterile inoculation procedures you shouldn't have to worry about contams. That is why you have a dry verm layer or another type of filter on your jar lid.

Agreed. But FAE is fresh air exchange

Cool thanks. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant gas exchange. I was however under the impression that mycelium required oxygen to grow/spread? Anyways, I'll keep them indoors. There have been numerous contam issues here following pf tek while leaving jars indoors to colonize. Not sure why.. Anyways, thanks for the help!
