so here are a few pics, i just harvested a few mushies from my first flush of my first newbie grow. i used the pf tek with brown rice. now i was worried when i saw the coloration but also note that they did also just drop some spores. anyway, im worried that this blueish green coloration toward the bottoms of the stems is contamination. any help would be awesome. i also broke open the cakes in question and nothing but healthy mycelium throughout. the blueish green color was only on the cake where the mushies were growing. ps, i did find out i put my cake in the fruiting chamber upside down. i am gonna try again to post pics, don't know why i can't figure it out. if they dont work please visit my profile. advice would be appreciated.

why does it bruise like this? i recently had to move my fruiting chamber to hide from some guests, could the moving have caused it? or the fact that i accidentally put my caked in the fruiting chamber upside down so i had tons of pins killing off cuz they had nowhere to go except straight into the perlite?

i don't know about all that, or recommend your explained procedures but bruising is very common unless you handle it so gently its like nothing is touching it. the can usually bruise from just picking them, this is caused by the oxyidation of psilocin/psilocybin from from pressure applied to the surface of the fruit body... don't fret, your shit is good man.

yeah i busted up a couple of my cakes to see if it was a contam of some sort, nothing. it was only the surface of the cake and only where the mushrooms where or had been. the aborts that were all over the bottom of the cake were that blueish greenish color. anyway, first timer here so i love to learn and hopefully better my knowledge for future growing. thanks for the advice and hope future questions go this well. im gonna start a whole new crop of cakes here in a few weeks.
