i already dried out my pc once because my seal was bad and it runned out of water. is it completly ruined? some posters seems to hint that it would still be fine. i would not leave my pressure cooker out without observing it and lose water but how could i diagnose my pc to know if it is broken.
i have tried and tried to get an even seal without steam going out and keeping the psi at the required level. but it never works. how tight do you seal your wings? how do you center the metal lid?

You already have diagnosed it. Fix it or replace it if you want to ensure your safety. No one likes their operation to be busted by the paramedics coming to get your ass to the hospital

If you're made of money get a new one... send me the old one I have a use for it.
I don't think you should give up on it though. They're tuff. If you can't see any kind of physical warping. I don't think you should just walk away from it.
unless you do have the money to burn.
I own three now, including the 75X. My first one is beat to shit from the same rookie mistakes. I still use it for LC jars.
If the people giving you advice are fearing a towel to hold the stopper on an AA machine... well fu fu is all I say.

What I did when I first got my AA 921 pressure canner: 1: Put a thick layer of Vaseline around the lip of the lid of the pressure cooker, coating everything that could come in contact with the pot. 2: Pour water in, I usually use 3-4 quarts 3: Turn on your stove, It takes a while to heat up the cooker 4: Load the jars. Make sure you use the spacers that they provide. 5: Put the lid on. Make sure it is level as possible, this will help seal it up. 6: Lift up all the nuts that tighten the lid, so they're in their respective notches. 7: Tighten the nuts so they're loosely against the lid, doing opposite nuts simultaneously. 8: Simultaneously tighten opposing wingnuts down against the lid, going a few turns at a time and then moving on. I don't stop doing this until I can't turn the nuts at all anymore, even with all my strength. This is how I know that steam won't be escaping because the lid isn't fastened right. 9: Wait for steam to start escaping from the little valve that your rocker sits on. I do this without the rocker on, as per AA's instructions. once visible steam is escaping, I set a timer for 7 minutes. 10: When the timer goes off, I put the rocker on top of the valve. I check when putting it on that I'm on the 15PSI side (mine has 5, 10, and 15 PSI options) and double check after it's on that the 15 side is in the right place. 11: Wait until your valve reads 14-15 PSI and then start lowering the heat. I like my rocker to be hissing about 1/3 to 1/4 of the time it's on there, but you can go for less, as long as it stays at 15 PSI 12: Cook for the allotted time, then turn off the heat and let it cool overnight. 13: ??? 14: PROFIT!
I've used my Cooker many times, and the past 10+ I haven't needed to put on the Vaseline, but I probably will when I next use it again just for good measure.

It's AA, there's no gasket. Quote:

i will try this once and get back to you guys, if i can reach 15 psi without steam going off the side of my pressure cooker, it means that it is still fine right?
ALso,it only starts venting once i have reached the maximum psi on the weight, i have read somewhere that steam going off from the side is normal when there is extra steam in the pc. is taht right?

ok. i will follow your advice. now that i think about it, there are dark marks in the pressure cooker, does that mean it is warped metal?

If you're still asking questions at this point, you kneed to find someone who has worked with pressure cookers before and have them show you how to do it and let them tell you if it's working before you use any pressure cooker again.
