Casing necessity...

Ok guys I need to clear this out once in for all!
Here's my plan: BRF cakes crumbled to coir/verm trays and put into a SGFC.
My question is: Do I need to case and why casing?

That said why do I see many posts/teks with people casing their bulk substrate? What's the advantages and disadvantages? When is it needed? Could you guys just clear out the casing for me please? Because it seems like some do and some don't but noone explains why.
Thanks for helping

You need to case a crumbled cake. This is not a bulk substrate. A bulk sub would be if you spawned the cake to coir/manure/straw then you dont need a casing. I never case bulk its an extra step which is another chance for contam

A casing layer is useful when your ambient RH is very low. Otherwise you don't need to case bulk substrates.

I'm spawning coir/verm with crumbled cake... isn't that a bulk substrate? In this case I don't need to case unless my Rh is very low?

Then why do I see so many people casing their monos in grow logs or teks? Well... I guess in winter with the heating the Rh goes down so a casing may me required for some person. As I see it it's just another chance of contam and a risk to ruin all your previous hard work...
