Gymnopilus sp.
    #14710190 - 07/03/11 10:16 AM (9 years, 10 months ago)

Habitat:
Was found growing in South Florida on old wood chips; shrooms were scattered and in clusters (mostly in clusters)

Gills:
Gills are yellow; rusty when mature and spores have released

Stem:
solid, thick yellow stems

Cap:
varies from size of a half dollar to the size of my hand, sometimes larger

Spore print color:
rust colored

Bruising:
bluish/green on all of them, some are bruising much more slowly than others

Other information:
Some had veil attached, more mature ones had no veil only the small ring around the stem

Sounds like Gyms but the photos are kinda small. Pics of the bruising?

I will confess something that should be quite obvious, CC.  I love mushrooms, i.e. fungi.  I really do.  I am talking about a strong feeling, i.e. emotion, for them.  I think they are beautiful.  I even dream of them.

Ok, sorry about the quality as I said, I am using a webcam, but when I found these, I found a small handful of aborts that are heavily bruised blue and green

the darker colored one at the bottom is completely bruised blue

I transferred some of the mycelium to the same type of woodchips in my backyard today, and the mycelium had many blue pins on it, not sure if that info helps but there ya go.

They could be Gymnopilus, but with the pictures given I can not say for sure what they are.

I don't think that you should eat them.

They might be toxic.  They will probably not get you high.

ok, well as far as more information goes, they are heavily bruised blue with a greenish tint with yellowish gills

rust/rusty orange spore print

thick stems, some hollow some solid

are there any other mushrooms that are toxic that would bruise blue green that have this exact description given?

if not then Im making tea right now

They are indeed active, I made tea with around 30 grams fresh and 10 grams or so dry, with two whole lime, and I just chewed down 2 or 3 more caps and stem

I am having visual patterning morphing and a very relaxing trip, at a mild ++ right now

hard to type though

These are not G.junonius.
They look similar to the gyms that many Floridans have been finding here lately. Congrats on your find even though I think you got way too many icons in your sig.
