This probably is not a new idea.
After injecting PF jars, hold horizontally and rotate so the inoculum is dispersed more around the jar.
This could drastically decrease colonization time.
There might be a need for a little more solution to be used, as the brf absorbs it up prety good.

Yes, if you use enuf solution it spreads out the inoculation points drastacally. So if you inoculated 2 holes and rotated, it would be like having hundreds more (depending on the amount of spores/mycelial fragments).

The gal pal finds if you use the tall 1/2 pints rather than the short fat ones and roll...you will have extremely fast colonization....9 days with proper incubation.

what my friends dog does is while he is injecting he slides the needle from one side to the next, thus spreading the spores out over a much larger surface and speading up colonization times.

I figure that the liquid inoculum will disperse well enough as it drips down the grain.
Couldn't hurt though!

I only inject once with grain jars.
I do however make kind of a spiral pattern when I'm squirting...

no tone great idea, makes sense. as far as tall 1/2 pints or wide mouth 1/2 pints i always found the wide mouth to colonize much faster.

You can shake a jar with grain substrate, the grain pieces move all around. PF type substrate does not move around easily when shaken.

Yea i'll probably try that with my 1/2pt jar of BRF/verm it's been 10days now and the jar is only about 1/4 the way finished in the colonization period.

What I meant was that BRF stays pretty solid and difficult to shake, compared to grain. Better to eventually give it some air to speed it up, safest when you have filter material over the holes.
