Fractal you lucky fucking bastard! I can give you mine but it will be months, Ive had to stop growing till august most likely. Anyway there are far superior cultures which you will obviously need now more than ever.
Only problem with that HEPA it says 'much higher than 0.5 m/s' and 0.5 m/s is what we want. Could be sorted by prefilter or a controller maybe.

I see - I thought 0.5m/s was a minimum acceptable flow rate. Is that just because you'd be unable to use a lighter in front of it at higher flow rates, or something else?

Regarding hygrometers, you can get a good, adjustable and cheap one here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-HG-Hagesan-Hygrometer-Measuring-Relative-Humidity-/330487597258?pt=UK_Kitchen_Accessories&hash=item4cf29888ca
If the link is dead, search ebay for "HG Hygrometer"
To adjust it, simply insert a screwdriver/knife into the groove and gently twist it.
Do this all the way round until it opens.
You'll notice that the metal parts can be swiveled against the faceplate and that the needle on the front moves with them. This is how it's adjusted.
Make sure the inners are laying in the front half like so:
Gently lay the rear of the casing back on (without snapping it closed) and wrap in a wet towel for a while: 30 mins should do.
Remove from towel and swivel the metal innards round till the needle is on 100%.
Gently replace the back and squeeze it shut.
I did mine 2 years ago and it still measures accurately.

4.50 delivered.. good price.. so when you first got it and you wrapped it in wet towel, what did it say..
I'm having a hard time believing it's that accurate for that price..

It read about 75% if I remember right.
I assure you, once adjusted for high humidity, it keeps its setting just fine. I think the problem with cheap hygrometers isn't keeping their setting, but being accurate to a wide range. Obviously most of them are factory set to measure mid-range humidity.

Its not compost for mushrooms. Its spent mushroom substrates, so no good for our use. Theyve already grown mushrooms on it, so they have consumed the nutrients already

hi guys, nice to see the uk thread is back up felt like i'd lost a leg when it got closed, touch wood.
Regarding that hepa filter " http://www.standardhepafilter.com/epages/62713073.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/62713073/Products/0200003 "
I have noticed 2 things about it that look suspect. I was going to purchase the same 1 off ebay recently but then couldn't find it in the search the next day. The thing is I have read that the air coming into the box needs to do 1 right turn before going into the hepa filter this creates a plenum of equal air pressure and is necessary to achieve the laminar flow. I hope I am making at least half sense?
as you can see on that design there is an axial fan built into the back?! also on the pictures it doesn't show a prefilter like they say it does? so im guessing it would be inside the unit? seems a little odd to me. the design does look dam sexy and compact and it is a reasonable price to. And maybe it does preform well as a laminar flow hood? otherwise why would they be selling them? u'd hope that they would have been tryed and tested?
but just a thought. I have recently spent alot of time designing and building my own flowhood lately, which is slightly less compact, i would have used this sleek sexy design they are using but not sure it would give laminar flow. My flowhood is now built tried and in testing so far i am very pleased
Might upload a pic or two if any1 is interested Also i have a spare hepa filter if any1 is interested in building their own hood ( i ordered 2 from different places as i got impatient and went CRazY lol) I could be persuaded to build a replica of myne for someone if they whisper sweet sounds in my ear XD
ok here is a couple of pics of it almost finished...

Would love to see somebody rubber stamping that sites flow hood as A okay... so reasonably priced seems too good to be true and very tempted.

I have now added a tastey looking pre filter (panel filter ) that fits snug and perfectly in a recess on the top i was so chuffed when it fit in there snugly XD seriously spent days trying to draw out the design to scale hahaha im so terrible with maths and stuff these days, took a while to get my head around it.
I also have the wood pieces cut for another 1, as when i went to BnQ and I had to buy a big sheet of wood to get all the cuts done.
Yeah I would love to hear from someone who buys that german flowhood they also have a 20 euro difference between their bigger model! strikes me as a little odd. i went for a 1x2 foot flow hood because I have limited space, I did start to build a glovebox with a 160l box XD when my girlfriend saw how big the box was she almost had kittens XD
but that 2x2 footer looks like it doesnt take up 2 much space.
