so heres the question, i have shouldered jars. what problems should i have with crumbled cakes. and since i havent had succes birthing from them how should i do invetro. my understanding is that its just fruiting from the jar, should i use a fc for invetro?

answer 1: crumbled cakes can be useful in colonizing another kind of substrate, although, it isn't optimal.  (this is what i think you should)

answer 2: unfortunately, you will not have much success in relying on fruiting in the jar

answer 3: you wouldn't need a fc for invetro growing.

I dont think its ideal for the PF TEK, but placing a jar in an FC should fruit and produce mushrooms. Some Commercial mushroom farms fruit in jars.

I would recomend getting tapered jars without shoulders, but until then if you dont wish to crumble and spawn, stick them in an FC and see what happens

3 different methods in use in this pic. The far back is pans with poo cakes. Next is cakes left in the jars. The closest is the normal PF Tek method outside the jar. In the jar will fruit faster and the top verm layer acts as a casing layer. But it is up to the grower and the method that they want to do.

You could also get a deep tray and set the cakes in and case.by Anno
