I'm trying to use some manure in my pan cam cakes. I got some "Sterilized"(website calls it sterilized) Manure bags from OG, now I know I can't sterlize this again in my jars in the pressure cooker with BRF and Verm. So am I supposed to seperately sterilized my brf and verm in jars, then pull them out and mix with already sterilized manure?? I don't think thats the way to go. .................................. Also these 1lb manure bags came with a filter patch and inoculation point so I can Inoculate them, Would You ever use horse manure as the only substrate? Thanks in advance for any help. Here is a link to OGs manure: http://www.out-grow.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=4&products_id=25

Because I thought you weren't supposed to sterilize manure in pressure cooker due to high temperature killing the good nutritions in manure, is that not correct? Please let me know because that'll just make it so much easier if I could sterilizem all together. Or am I supposed to pasteurizem all??? Thanks Doc.

You will have to sterilize it for use with pans. It will be fine, treat it like regular BRF jars and you will be fine.

You do not want to do it for cubes because the sterile bulk sub will be like an open buffet for contams since it is not confined in a jar, but in a tray or mono in not so sterile conditions, and the contams will beat the fungi mycelium in that race. This is why alot say not to. Pans and cubes require different methods.

You pasteurize bulk substrates, sterilize spawning media. Since this will be "spawn," you will want to sterilize it. And as long as you keep your moisture levels right, you can sterilize it as much as you want, theoretically...
--------------------
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice.
In practice, there is.

Yea I'm actually gonna use part of his method except for I won't be fruiting all my cakes as cakes and a little different substrate, he never said how he sterilized the jars though. So I'll just pressure cookem and start a new pan cam grow log tonight, thanks for everyone's help.
