Right, like the time I drove my car (a baby blue 72 VW Super Beetle) off a bridge and down 15 ft. "Man Lucky to be alive as car jumps bridge"
Why didn't I feel lucky?
Any times in your life when people said "You Were Lucky" when you really didn't think so?
ps yes i know it was a homo car that's why i totalled it bought a nice new toyota 76 corolla after that with the insurance mo

I fell asleep while driving (4 am and sober) and hit a tree at 45. Bit my tongue in half and broke 8 of my teeth and got a concussion from my head going through the windshield (no seatbelt). I didn't feel lucky at first, but I was because when I went to get my stuff out of my car, the police apparently searched for my insurance etc. but didn't look where I hid my oz. of bud that I picked up earlier that day.
Oh, and a 72 Beetle is a lot less gay than say a 2000 Beetle

the chances of surviving are very low. You beat the odds, hence "lucky"
whether you feel "lucky" or not,
you could see it as "you experienced the less likely of outcomes"
which could translate into "don't expect the same outcome every time"
which could be more or less "do that again and you'll be dead"
which is pretty much the same as
"you were lucky"

My grandma died, and I inherited her 2005 sebring, which is a pretty nice car (leather, sunroof, etc. Way better than my 98 neon). I went to pick up my roommate and his mom (who knew my grandma passed) kept telling me how lucky I was to have such a nice car. This went on for a good 10 minutes till I was like "Yea, I guess I am pretty lucky cancer slowly shut down my grandma's body so I could take her sweet car" and it got all awkward so we left.

Underpowered? No way, the Super Beetle had a 2200cc engine.
And they are roomier inside than you might think.
Hitler had something to do with it- but it was Ferdinand Porsche who designed the thing.
