Hi Lord of Gnomes and other fellow hunters, first time poster but have been reading these posts for years and hunting for a couple of years with a good mate. I hope i can learn from those with more knowledge than myself.
I am embarrassed to say that although my mate and i go hunting now and then we have only managed to find 2 P.subs (yes 2...not 2 hundred) and would really appreciate some help. Last year we went out a few time but due to lack of experience we did not get any. Last weekend we found our first 2 P.subs. Pretty stoked, but could just not find any more. Found some new species i have not seen before on our last hunt.
I realise i am only a brand new poster but happy to drive anyone for a hunt one day....or just some location tips. Thanking you in advance. Happy hunting.

@theguys. My girlfriend is out in the city with some friends at the moment and they've all had a low dose. She keeps texting me saying she's having the time of her life so i recommend it on that basis.
I went for a hunt today and washed my subs like i normally do, except this time the spore water is a solid blue colour. I noticed that the subs bruised more than normal today but in the past my spore water has been clear. Has this happened to anyone else? I kind of feel like drinking the water.

also @theguys I have had them in town and at festivals before and as long as the dose isn't too hectic you will love it. A low to maybe medium dose will definitely enrich your night, any more than that though will be too intense and harder to deal with.
@lotg I went back and picked the dried out subs today, possibly (sub?) cubensis? Great success. I can't believe how different they are to forest subs (subaeruginosa.). They were all reasonably dry and a brilliant gold in the sunshine, with definite tinges of blue. Managed to follow them around the forest to some new spots.

Also been reading a bit and are the orange species that plague the forest actually active, I have always ignored them but is it possible that they are a variant of Gymnopilus that is active, although in a very low dose?

You wash your subs?? why? Psilocybin is water soluble which means when you put mushrooms in water, the water extracts the psilocybin. Thats what mushroom tea is. What you have is not just spore water but probably mildly active psilocybin containing water.
I wouldn't bother washing them, you'd probably be losing a fair bit of potency from the mushrooms if your washing them then drying them.

@Austrip. Shit. That makes sense. I've read posts on here before about people rinsing their mushrooms before drying them, that's why I've been doing it. Mainly so I don't have to eat dirt but also for the spore water. Surely only the psilocybin from close to the surfuace of the subs would dissolve though since i only dip them in the water? I'm not leaving them to soak or anything and the water's cold. Also how else do you make spore water? Does anyone else wash their subs or know anything about this?

If the water is turning blue, you are losing active psilocybin for sure, probably alot of it.
I've never washed subs, and I don't think I've ever eaten any dirt, just cut the dirty part of the stem off.
If you want spore water, pick a few of the older subs from the wild and put them in a blender with a 1:10 ratio of water. that way your not losing any psilocybin from the shrooms you plan on eating for spore water.
Dont bother washing them, theres no point IMO, and if you have to clean bits from them, either cut it off and ditch it or clean it off with your hand without using any water.

Yesterday was the first time it turned blue. The previous 6 or 7 times it has just been clear. Cheers for the advice though. I can't remember when I read the post about rinsing them but it was a few months ago at least now. Fuck, that really makes me want to make the most of this water now. I'll have to find a sure thing spot for next season, dilute it and spread it there. Thanks.

ive washed subs quickly once or twice with no lose of potency when eating them fresh in previous years but stil you shouldn't wash them its not worth the risk especially when your going to dry them theres absolutely no point in washing them. And no thats not how you make spore water, you print them for a couple of days on foil or paper and sit them in water till the foil or paper is clean, if theres a lot of spores in the water it should go purple brown but if it doesn't stil doesnt mean spores arent there, their microscopic and only visible when grouped together. I reckon austrip is right sounds like you got some midly active water haha @scotty sweet haul mate

Well that was really dumb then wasn't it. I did my research so well on everything else and then took one guys word for it on spore water. Idiot. Lesson learned and I won't make that mistake again. I hope my subs still do their job. Thanks fellas.

You guys have been getting plenty.
Haven't been out for the last couple weeks or so, but haven't found anything by pine. Have I just been unlucky?
You haven't all beaten me to them have you?

Hi everyone! Seems like most people have done so well this year!
I found a few subs growing in a forest. They looked so different to others I've found on pine bark chips. The stems were much skinnier and longer, and they hardly bruised blue at all.
