I like to think of the alternative lives Hitler could have lived.

Maybe he could have been an ice cream man?
Ben & Adolf's anyone?

If the Vienna School of Art would've accepted him, he could've been a painter instead of a tyrant.

if the armistice following WWI had been halfway just instead of vindicitive & crippling to germany (reparations, loss of vital real estate, etc.) it is possible that he never would have found sufficient backing to become chancellor or the reich...

I think it was more the complete and utter failure of free market capitalism in 1929 that really gave the Nazi party support.

With free market capitalism again gaining ground it's a real worry our children will face similar problems.

Hitler was a very intelligent man who had some flaws in the way he percieved the world.  I'm not sure if psychedelics would have made him more mellow or not... even so, he never killed his own family like Saddy' did

Only if you define free market capitalism as government run central banks manipulating the money supply in an attempt to bolster the business sector as 'free market.'

Quote:

See above. I suggest you study money, banking, fiat currencies and their effects on the business cycle. Central banking, governments attempting to prop up certain businesses and governments promoting enterprises are not actions consistent with the free market capitalism. Such things more appropriately full under the designation of corporatism.

What if it was all a part of his punishment?

...But it was to be only the beginning- a taste of things to come...

Obviously, he couldn't stop it from happening... He must have been scared! Shitting his pants, actually! Cause it was horrific to witness! His hands were stained with so much blood.

Maybe a possible entrance into Art school was just a part of the madness... to get his hopes up.... to think that everything was really finally going to be ok.... and then... BOOM!

If WONDERFUL rewards for Great Deeds exist, and if TRUE Creativity and Imagination are far greater than the human mind can grasp... Then the alternate that exists must be trully LEGENDARY... in Epic Ways!

Few people know that Adolf's demeanor was actually the result of his dry cleaner. He shirts were continuously over-starched which led to a bad temper. WW II could have been avoided by the mere use of fabric softener.

Funny this topic came up I just got "The Family Guy" Dvd set and
finished watching an episode where one of the characters makes a reference
to Hitler about why he hated the jewish and they show Hitler in
"Das Gym" lifting 5 pound weights and this huge Jewish guy with the star of david
on a necklace and girls on his arms laughing and pointing at Hitler

Yep. The war reperations certainly crippled Germany, and even though the Dawes plan helped, and I use that term lightly, there was no way Germany would even come close to paying the $33 billion. In The Economic Concequences of Peace J.M. Keynes noted that the war reperations would completely destroy what he regarded as Europe's most important task, rebuilding their economy.

One could go as far as saying that if Germany had never lost WW I. Anti-semitic sentiment was high through the region prior to the war, and even higher after the war. A large portion of the Germanic peoples though that there was no way that they could have actually lost the war, since they were a "superior" culture, as pointed out by J.G Fichte in his series, "Addresses to the German Nation". They obviously were stabbed in the back, and it must have been the Jews. Throw in Galton's eugenics and the market crash of '29....a perfect storm of occurances which led to Hitler's rise to power.

alternative lives:
has anyone read fritz leiber's cute li'l story "catch that zeppelin" (there was a minor character named adolph who glared with consuming hatred at an obviously jewish passenger on the helium filled zepplin of the story's title... or was it the jew who glared at dolphie?) (the zepp was one of many that plied the airways of that universe, filled with helium derived from the curie/edison fusion process that supplied cheap, inexhaustable power for the world, the peaceful world, of that universe's 20th century... but what of those who "leak" between the worlds?)

anyways, herr schicklegruber should have remained a painter of houses (or would a landscape painter have been better? or could he have become an impressionist, or even a surrealist painter? naaah...)

Do we think that Hitler's vehement hatred of Jewery was a result of his trying to compensate for his own Jewish origins? Just a theory that I hear floated about lately...I havent seen the evidence that he WAS Jewish, besides his features...Anyone care to elaborate?
