what to do. only one pint jar of wbs
    #1468701 - 04/17/03 11:29 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

it was 20% colonized yesterday and i shaked it. now when its fully colonized in a week or so...what should i do with it? i dont want to make a tiny casing....im thinking maybe spray lysol in the jar , open the top. pour some grain into a jar with some water in the bottom. shake it up. suck up with a syringe.

then do up some more jars and innoculate with that..

my other 5 jars didnt colonize..their still in the incubator..i inniculated them on march 27th,....from a multispore innoculation of about 3cc a jar....so im only left with one now it seems.

um, use it to spawn new WBS jars? considering the non-success of the other jars i wouldn't trust the sterility of this jar but that seems the best answer if this jar is sterile. you'll definitely need at least a glovebox for a G2G like this.

Use it to spawn some straw, compost, or poop

niggy, go to the heap where we picked the pan subs in november, get some of that poo. then pasturize it (get some with lots of composted straw and pick out the beetle grubs, the more dirt-like the better)
then spawn it, contams shouldnt be a big deal. FORGET about straw if contams are a problem for you.
