Went on a hunt this morning, found 107 subs weighing 310 grams.
Saw a note on a paper bag on a tree one of you guys had left there, was pretty cool to see ^_^

Stopped in at some local pine forest on the way home from a mate's shack. First pick in a long time. Can't wait to get back into it properly. Pretty successful pick but have noticed that there weren't many fresh subs, must have been the dry weather.

Also the state of the forest was pretty disheartening, there was rubbish throughout the forest, (toilet paper, food/drinks, and even a porno magazine). Remember to carry your rubbish out with you.
Found this monster sub, probably the biggest i have ever seen. (even managed to dry it)

Just want to get an id on the white ones (in the bottom photo and below) though (sorry for the bad picture), At first I didn't pick any because I thought they weren't active, but I noticed they had a nice gold tinge speckled with blue. Possibly very dry active? They were found growing in open dirt (no trees around), and were almost snap dry.

Edit sorry about the size of the photos

Yeah was pretty confident they were, just wanted to confirm. The good news is there were stacks of them. Might have to go back and pick them.
Also now they have dried they are back to a golden colour, def Subs.
Edit. Anyone else interested in a group pick, has there been one for 2011 yet?

I'd definitely be keen on a group pick!
Don't think there's really been any this season though.

@jordman. It sounds like the subs have really done you some good. Hope you go well with your rehab.
Back to the bugs. It's a good idea to separate the subs that you know have bugs in them from the others before and during drying. I lost quite a few to bugs that way that definately hadn't been invaded before setting them out to dry. Seems a pity to deny the little fellas the amazing time they must be having, but it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

well not a lot to add from me guys, but had similar results as most people here, loads of subs but they were all very dry. Everything I found is very chunky/meaty, even subs of similar size to what they were a few weeks ago now have much more weight in them, and overall are looking healthier, in bigger amounts, thicker stems, and even showed much more significant blue bruising then subs from the same area earlier in the season.
I seen subs today with caps from every color of almost pure white, to a deep blackish gold. If you didn't know them REALLY well you would miss a tonne of them. At a rough guess, all up seen probably well over 2000-4000 subs that could have been taken today, Maybe more. only picked maybe 600-800 of the best (I stopped counting at about 450 and it was at about halfway through the haul)

@lord of the gnomes
do u go picking every day? how the hell do u find the time? ive been once a week the past couple weeks and i still think im taking too much time out of my exam period -.-
Also, does anyone else think this years subs are a fair bit stronger? i just can't believe how many there is around.
Oh, and i also have been finding a ton that are very dry, but on the other end of the scale, most of my larger ones are waterlogged to the extreme.

you mean more potent? nah I actually thought some of last years were quite a bit more potent, but it could just be that I'm getting more used to psilocybin. There is certainly a lot of them this year, and their not weak on potency by any means.
Older specimens start to look water logged and haggard because there starting the decomposing process and they've spent much more time in the forest above ground then the pins which are fresh out of mother earth. I've had similar results this week, lots of dried ones and lots of old ones.
I've seen tonnes of pin though, which most people said they didn't see this week. Literally at my spot you could nearly not walk properly without walking on top sub pins.

we ran out of work for a couple of month7 so it gives me something to do haha and plus i love going out for hunts to me its more adictive than the trips/voyage it self and i also grew up in the hills so i know countless spots but getting there is a different story thats why i agree to share some with people if they drive up there haha sharing is caring and i dont barely trip so having thousand7 of subs to myself isnt worth it. Aslong as their good people and douche bags its ok with me. I gave @jonstoned a location of a bumper spot and he found hundreds that spots just to far for me so i dont realy ever go there
