I'm sorry, I don't get it. Why is a0 = (1/4)*pi - (1/2) ? What's the argument for that?
I see that, a0 = 1/sqrt(2), but I don't get the rest.

My opinion is that that is incomprehensible.

First of all, Figure B is wrong. The angular momentum vector always points the same direction and thus doesn't trace out a cone, but if you were to localize it somewhere (which is improper), it would trace out a cylinder. I can't follow the rest of your argument.

Try using a Casio.

Whenever you get an inconsistency, it's because of you making a mistake. It has nothing to do with a certain brand of calculator being wrong, or the Pythagorean theorem being wrong, or whatever else you think it is. It's because you made an error.

Blame the builders. The didn't calculate gravity into the stair design.

Nah. That's what happens when you trip, walking down the stairs while using a casio.

I can't find the 'start' button on my computer... besides, I doubt the Microsoft crapulator supports RPN. If I'm sitting in front of a computer, I'll stick to "dc" for my calculator needs.

It is actually really simple and very powerful. Helps a lot if you understand RPN. After that, you do stuff like "5 4 + p" to print 5 + 4.

Do you also write symbolic RPN? As in formulas?
