first grow.. second jar, first hole.. needle goes in.. I can hear a funny noise.. next thing I know 9ml of B+ spores gets sucked in!  
didn't expect that at all..
I was using bone manam jars (uk) and masking tape..
I know what happened.. don't need to explain that to me.. just wondering why me? <cry> was it because I used automotive quality masking tape?
bullshit.. anyway.. may be worth to mention this in the grow FAQ to avoid further victims... :/

lol, master grain canner. sry couldnt resist. happened to me but with contams w/ a g2g transfer, vacuumed huge amounts of air in when i popped the tops. i learned to follow the procedure in the how to grow mushie vids and havent had a prob yet.

Yes that was the problem in this case.
Micropore-tape is able to let air pass trough so that there is no vacuum after the jars cooled down.

Sorry to hear that man. I'd say let it sit, and if you notice water pooling in the bottom, don't SHAKE it, but kind of move it around.
dont tilt your jars too much, but it's not a lost cause.

already ordered the tape.. but will check it out.. I done only 4 jars
and have 5 glasses cooling down right now.. depending on contam rate I may just stick to glasses for now..

sooo.. it's been 9 days now and... no growth at all
only reasons for this I can think of are:
-I didn't let cakes cool long enough? They were a LITTLE warm when I inoculated them.. not VERY warm, far from hot..
-dodgy spores? from spores101 (didn't know better back then)
I'm pretty sure I followed all other instructions pretty well..
with the remaining 2ml in syringe I started honey LC (2 days ago) as advised by THcsilverhaze..
so still waiting for that.. I've done 2 300ml jars each one got 1ml of spores..
mean-time sent of to fsre.nl for a print and ordered some sclerotia producers from sporeworks..
here's some evidence:

i had a jar take 3 weeks to start colonizing its only a week in now lol and iv already birthed its bros and siss

Yeah that doesn't look like BRF at all. Granted I've only done two grows, but both were with BRF and neither looked anything like that at all.
Its possible they aren't growing because of the substrate. My BRF/Verm mix always looks and feels more like poo than clumpy. To be honest I'm not even sure mine is supposed to be the consistency it is but it has worked for me both times.

iv done lots of little grows for dry ozs and mine always looks like damp sand in the jar not oatmeal like the ones in this pic lol.

Yea, thats generally why most of us use 1/2 pint mason jars, the lid is 2 piece.
I put my lid on upside down too, so the rubber rib around the edge of the
lid doesn't stick/vacuum to the jar. Sorry bro, but I couldn't help laugh,

I was thinking the same thing.. but I assumed it must be that since I followed the recipe.. 2 cups verm 1 water 1 flour.. and yeah it did get a little clumpy.. probably shouldn't have put all the BRF at once.. second batch was a little bit better.. or does it look off as well? :
 
Edit: lookin at pics.. others do look like sand.. guess I must have coarser verm.. :/

When all I can get is coarse verm, I will run it thru a blender to break it up a little. Myc does better if it doesn't have to jump across large gaps.

Thanks mabachko but this is not an option (sharing house with landlord)
and I don't have a blender.. this verm came from B&Q.. would you know if homebase's is any better? still no growth on caked but here's a sneak peak at my honey LC 
 
some of those strands got clusters of spores embedded in them so I think.. WE GOT MYCELIUM! I'll give them cakes another few days and then start over with LC...

Yea, looks like myc to me. But you should try noccing up one or two jars.
Just to make sure its good. Thats why its best to inoc more than just 1 jar,
because that was if only one jars survives, then you know its not your LC.
LC has been nothing but problems for some people, but, lol, I do mine
in the microwave, and I haven't had a problem yet! But, on the other hand
I don't make a bunch all at once. I might make enough for 5 syringes, or
so. That is usually plenty, esp once I get my G2G transfers going, then
I will hardly ever need spore prints nor liquid culture! knock on wood!
